Dr Justin Darby
BDSc (Hons) Qld, MDsc (Perio) Qld, MRACDS (Perio)
Justin graduated with Honours from The University of Queensland in 1999 before serving as a Dental Officer in the Royal Australian Air Force throughout Sydney, Adelaide, and the Northern Territory. He completed his three-year postgraduate program in Periodontics at the University of Queensland in 2007 and subsequently worked in specialist private practice in Sydney and Brisbane.
During his specialist training, Justin’s research focused on the inflammatory response of gum tissues around implants and the management of peri-implant diseases. The prevention and treatment of gingival inflammation around both teeth and implants, and the placement of implants in anterior aesthetic regions remain a cornerstone of his practice, and he has been invited to lecture extensively on these topics throughout Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom.
In 2015, Justin moved to Europe, where he practiced as a Registered Specialist in London (City, Harley Street, and Sussex) and Tallinn, Estonia. This decade abroad focused on interdisciplinary specialist care, including complex periodontal surgery, aesthetic gingival grafting, and implant therapy. Justin is known for his calm, engaging manner and is dedicated to providing personalised, empathetic care.
Justin is a member of several international professional organisations, including the British Society of Periodontology and Dental Implants, the American Academy of Periodontology, the European Association for Osseointegration, and the International Team for Implantology (ITI). He is also a member of the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Periodontists (ANZAP) and the Royal Australian College of Dental Surgeons (Specialist Discipline of Periodontics).
Justin returned to Australia in 2026 to join the team at Adelaide Periodontics and Implant Specialists. Away from the practice, he stays active through swimming, running, and yoga, and enjoys exploring the South Australian coastline and the Adelaide Hills’ restaurant and wine scene. A dedicated language lover, Justin is currently studying French and Mandarin, and enjoys maintaining his Estonian language skills with the local community
